So what’s the future for the world now ? Now there’s no sign of hostility ceasing what will be the fate of nations ? Now Cameron and his warmonger cronies have made the decision to extended military action into Syria too.Military action, wars, terrorism in Syria should have been avoided at all costs we’ve all be there before many times but its something that now seems inevitable and people just don’t seem to learn. Many famous people felt the same and expressed their feelings in poems
“We are the Dead. Short days ago,We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie in Flanders Field” (John McCrae). Others in earlier times saw the darkness in man: “Of man’s first disobedience, and the fruit of that forbidden tree whose mortal taste brought death into the world…” (Milton)
Creating anything of note takes time, thought and effort but the rewards can be great. From a masterpiece to an unacknowledged gem bringing with it millions of pounds or just a feeling of satisfaction. To me as with most the creating is more important than the reward the feeling of satisfaction when the work is done better than any financial reward.
I’ve just watched a BBC documentary about the legendary rock guitarist David Gilmour where he talks about his latest record “Rattle that Lock” in detail as well as his early life, family and his time in Pink Floyd. Also interviewed are a number of his musician friends and his wife Polly Sampson.
Listening to him speak it made me realise how our lives are pieced together and how people should be encouraged to reach out and search inside their soul and create something that is unique to them. Watching the documentary gave me ideas of my own especially with my photography and even taking a few screenshots to illustrate this post made me think of further times when the weather is better. Watching him surrounded by the countryside and his family made me think of the only things I really long for in life a home away from the city and a chance to see my children a little more often.
Like Gilmour I don’t have many regrets in life,I have become the man I always wanted to be…. liberated from societies mental constraints, free thinking, happy and in love. Happiness is something that we cannot always take for granted and many of us have to make sacrifices on the way but as long as we take knock backs in our stride we should always enjoy life to the full in the end.
