In the past 6 months we’ve become disenchanted with the quality of entertainment offered on the national TV channels and have turned a lot more to watching feature films on catch up and on demand film channels. First and foremost I’m not going to call them movies because as I live in England I want to use the English language and not slip into the dialect that is creeping in from foreign channels and video games and somewhat diluted proper English. Having said that most of the films we’ve watched have come from the United States and have been of wide ranging topics.
Most were entertaining and rate highly with us and with the film critic’s the one silly film and hardly believable was the scientific film I Origins which I’d recommend is not worth watching. Over Christmas with time on our hands and the weather being so inclement we decided to watch some Christmas films starting with the hilarious “Deck the Halls” with Danny DeVito we watched about 10 including “Miracle on 34th Street” both the original and the one with the late Richard Attenborough and Holiday Inn with Bing Crosby.
