Monday 4th July 6.52am
Well its been along time coming that’s all I can say, as after two months of almost solid work,we finally got a chance to chill out again totally naked. To be frank this summer has been a total washout in our part of the country and its only now that the sun has decided to reappear for more than two days in a row. After one or two false starts we decided (as I had a weekend off) to head to our naturist club Arcadians and brave the forecast which once again was hit and miss. After a summer which has seen cooler June days than Christmas Day of 2015, the last day of the month proved no different as the black clouds rolled in,depositing its frequent heavy downpours. all around our part of Essex. At 5.30 we’d decided to go for it and we clocked out and hit the road as the weather started to brighten up a little.
I arrived first (as we had both came straight from work) via Asda in my case after collecting the food and drink supplies. It wasn’t what you’d call a heatwave but as that’s never bothered me much I quickly stripped off and enjoyed the rewarding freedom. Friday night was spent watching the Euro 2016 football, listening to music, drinking wine and beer and of course playing trivial pursuit.
Saturday dawned bright, but the clouds soon rolled in, so I decided to get on with some work in the area around the ‘cabinchaletshed’ as it showed signs of neglect, in the 2 months since our last visit. I quickly got out the mower and was soon cutting grass around the chalet. It was quite pleasant freely mowing in my naked state and after about an hour it was all done.
The sun reappeared more than once, so I started cleaning the weeds and the long grass around chalet. It took me about an hour or two, using a patio brush, patio weeder and a trowel and as I finished the clouds started to roll in. As I headed inside, the flashes of lightning and the claps of thunder started, but I made it just is the rain came down.
Saturday evening was spent watching the football again this time the Italy vs Germany cracker, extra time and penalties as well as playing trivial pursuit and listening to the Electric Light Orchestra. Surprisingly up until now we had seen only 3 other people even though it had stayed dry for almost the whole time.
That changed on Sunday as many more people appeared as did the hot sun finally. Out came the sun beds for the first time this year, as temperatures passed 22/23 degrees. At around 6 o’clock everybody went home leaving us again to our own devices and short of food we ventured out into the local town and had a fish and chip supper. After a few more drinks and again after watching the football(France vs Iceland) we turned in as a early start was expected for Monday morning.
