Today I’m taking the chance to relax ahead of six straight days work before I again get time off (just for a day) followed by another four days before my next weekend off. Today though I have been doing some DIY, putting up some hooks in the garage as well as cutting the lawn and pruning the hedge. Lying here on the sunbed in the glorious sunshine with temperatures hitting 25c it hard to believe winter is just around the corner.
Come it will and as the days get colder and darker we will reflect on the changing times in our lives. Personally I like change providing its on our terms and for the better, its just a shame others don’t see things that way, trying to gain at our expense by putting us down and/or alienating people we know close by.
As I’m lying here i’m observing the sparrows in the hedge and on the birdfeeder blissfully unaware that i’m even here, until I feel the need to turnover and away they fly. In Chelmsford you never saw any of these delightful birds which is probably mainly because of the loss of habitat, due to all the relentless house building and road construction.
Yesterday (Sunday) I managed some naked time at the club, catching up on the news and doing chores, unfortunately on my own as my beloved other half, was confined to bed as she was feeling ill. It was good to see the ‘cabinchaletshed’ in reasonable repair considering our months away and also the club pool which has undergone refurbishment recently. With the sun dipping away around the front of the house it reminds me that my three days off are nearly over and once more come tomorrow, I’ll be once again be in the hustle and bustle of a working environment….oh well I suppose someone has to pay for this delightful area we now live in.
