October can have some glorious crisp sunny day as well as some pleasantly warm ones to,but I like it most because the leaves turn a wonderful golden brown and they get blown around by the autumn wind, swirling as it goes. October this year has begun largely pleasant and sunny but as the month has progressed widespread rain has fallen on some days even sometimes by way of a thundery downpours in the South East.
October is always a month of great weather contrasts, of which this week provides a dramatic example. It has started off mild, although mostly dreary, grey and drizzling — not quite the Indian summer that had been expected. But a shock is in store at the end of the week, when a blast of Arctic wind is expected to send shivers through the UK. Even so I will attempt to get out on my days off with my camera and attached rain cover to bring you more photos like the ones here that I took yesterday on a second visit to Brook nature reserve near Stisted.
